Our unglazed cooking pot is handmade in La Chamba, a village in Colombia, using techniques that have been passed down through generations. The artisans use clay sourced from the shores of the Rio Magdalena River that contains mica, allowing it to withstand heat.

Once shaped into the desired form, the pots are dried in the sun and then polished with precious stones. Speckles and dimples are typical characteristics of the clay type, considered a sign of unique beauty by the artisans.

Before you use your Chamba pot for the first time, wash it and then fill it three-quarters full with water. Place uncovered in an oven for 30 minutes at 200ºC.For use on a gas or electric stove, in the oven and microwave. No induction. Do not expose your Chamba to sudden changesin temperature. To maintain your Chamba, handwash it. Dishwashers are not recommended. A pleasing patina will develop on the surface with use..
