Spontaneous Expression

Based in Sheffield, Ben Hall’s creations emerge from his ‘melody shed.’ A multi-instrumentalist, painter, and potter, Ben’s work reflects the English folk tradition. His joyful range of tableware features distinctive cobalt or decorative slip patterning. Using the sgraffito method, Ben scratches gull motifs into a layer of blue slip before applying a transparent glaze, lending each piece a unique charm.
