Be a New Maker | New Makers 2024

Celebrating and supporting creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship

The TOAST New Makers programme offers support and mentoring for emerging makers. We provide business support, as well as a platform to sell their pieces, with full profits being returned to them.

This programme is open to all emerging makers working in any craft discipline, wherever they may be in the world. Emerging makers are defined as individuals who may have been practising for any length of time but are in the early stages of their career. We welcome applicants from those who are underrepresented in craft and a range of educational backgrounds.

Winners will be selected by our guest judge Kate Orne, founder of the publication Upstate Diary, and a TOAST panel.

Why Apply?

As part of the programme, TOAST commits to selling the chosen makers’ products online at toa.st and in selected TOAST shops until December 2024. We will provide access to mentoring sessions with members of the TOAST team throughout the year. Our online magazine will profile each maker and we will promote the collection through email, social and on our New Makers page.

At TOAST we place huge value on skilled design and craftsmanship, and in the beauty of products that have been created by hand. We appreciate that being a maker can be challenging and hope that this programme will offer a platform from which to build your business. We are delighted to share the ongoing successes of our previous New Makers from the last 4 years.

Applictions closed at midday (GMT) on Mon 13 November 2023.

Please email newmakers@toa.st if you require any further information.

New Makers Terms & Conditions apply.
